Mexican Amber, otherwise known as Chiapas Amber, dates back to the Early Miocene and Middle Miocene epochs of the Cenozoic Era in southwestern North America. It is particularly unique and distinctive from other types of amber because it exhibits UV reactive properties. Amber is often sought after by collectors due to the unique inclusions found within; these can range from insects and arthropods, plant fragments and epiphyllous fungi. While larger inclusions are rare, one can easily find many smaller inclusions with a magnifying glass with which intricate details can be made out. Amber's captivating beauty has drawn people for centuries and Mexican Amber continues to remain an intriguing addition to any collection.
