The fluorite crystal (8 mm on edge) shows stepped, mosaic growth and ghost-purple zoning that deepens at one corner, a signature of Huanggang’s fluorine-rich fluids. Its silky lustre and semi-transparency contrast against the sculptural barite rosette—stacked, calcite-pseudomorphic blades that mimic wind-carved gypsum roses. A sprinkling of micro pyrite dust on the reverse attests to the sulphidic environment that nurtured the barite burs. At only 7 grams, it is an ideal competition thumbnail—no repairs or polishing.
