Scalenohedral calcite (“dog-tooth” habit) bursts in all directions, each spear-tip glinting under light thanks to the lightly frosted prism faces and glassy terminations. Colour grades from milky-white at the core to a warm straw hue near the tips, a classic signature of iron-tinged fluids in the limestone vugs of central Kentucky. The cluster’s underside shows the original grey-brown host rock, providing both stability and mineralogical context. No repairs or polishing; only a thin dusting of pocket clay remains in a few crevices, emphasising its natural origin. Ideal as a teaching piece for calcite habits or as a bright accent in any display case.
